MAY 2005 |
Greetings!
I’ve been so busy writing I almost forgot I have a new book coming out this spring... A Little Secret Between Friends, published by Harlequin Superromance,is already in most bookstores as well as available to order on Amazon. Follow the link from my web-site to order it right away. By the way, this book is available in a Larger Print version, so if you want to reduce the strain on your eyes, consider giving that a try!
Here’s what reviewers have had to say about my new book:“C.J. Carmichael has once again written a superbly engaging novel that will thrill her readers. A Little Secret Between Friends is just that, the story of a long kept secret between friends and lovers.” (Four and a half Stars--Donna Zaph, at CataRomance Reviews)Four Stars from Romantic Times: “A Little Secret Between Friends has a great plot...good dialogue.”
Book Signing: I’ll be signing copies of my new book and giving out pens at the Coles Bookstore in TD Square, downtown Calgary, on Wednesday, May 25, between 11:30 – 1:30. Some books from my backlist will also be available. Reno in July: This summer I’ll be autographing books at the RWA National Conference’s Literacy Signing in Reno, Nevada. I hope to see some of you there! Contest: As always, entering my bi-monthly contest at www.cjcarmichael.com is a great way to get a chance to pick up an autographed copy from my backlist. As most of these books are no longer available in bookstores, why not give it a try? Thank you....for being a reader and for staying in touch. Please feel free to drop me a line at cj@cjcarmichael.com. I’d love to hear from you!
Happy Reading,

OCTOBER 2004 |
Greetings!
September always feels like the start of a new year to me, and this fall I'm pleased to announce two
new releases that I'm very excited about:
AVAILABLE NOW: From Harlequin comes an action-packed new series called Code Red. These twelve
stories are about the women and men of Courage Bay Emergency Services. Bold enough to risk their
lives-and their hearts. Fearless enough to face any emergency--even the ones that are no accident.
I was fortunate to be asked to write the third book in this series, and I promise you non-stop action
with ER nurse Jackie Kellison and motorcycle cop Casey Guthrie.
Book Three
Next of Kin
(October 2004)
by CJ Carmichael
On-line Read: It's not too late to catch It Takes A Hero (prequel to Next of Kin) on eharlequin. You
can access this free, online read, by going to www.eharlequin.com and selecting the "online read"
tab.
Coming in November: My next Superromance is Seattle After Midnight. Late night radio host, Georgia
Lamont, has two new fans. One is the man of her dreams. The other is her worst nightmare...
Contest: Please visit www.cjcarmichael.com to enter my new contest. I'm giving away 5 autographed books from Superromance's The Birth Place series. This includes books by me, Brenda Novak, Darlene Rustand, Kathleen O'Brien and Marisa Carroll.
Live in Calgary? I'll be signing copies of both new releases at a joint signing with other romance
authors including NY Times bestselling author Judith Ivory and Yukon author, Barb Dunlop, at the
Sheraton in Eau Clair on Saturday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m. I hope to see you there!
HAPPY READING!

September 2003 |
Salutations September Lovers!
The kids are back in school and the days are still long and bright. Autumn is always my favorite season, but this year I'm finding it particularly golden, with a new release in the book stores, a signing launch for the book, and an online serial available through eharlequin.
TRADE SECRETS...
The new release is Trade Secrets, a special offering of two complete novels (one written by the marvelous and witty Jill Shalvis and one written by yours truly) within one binding. I had a lot of fun collaborating with Jill on this book (her heroine and my hero went to Harvard Business School together) and hope you will agree with us that corporate espionage and love make an exciting combination.
Book Signings
I'll be launching Trade Secrets September 5 at a book signing from 11:30 - 1:30 at the TD Square Coles Book Store in Calgary. As always, I'd love to see you there.
FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE...
Finally, the online serial...This is something you can read for free! Just click on the "Online Reads" tab at the top of eharlequin.com. It should take you straight to "FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE"--a series of stories about five women who meet at a writing class. I'm launching the series with the first story about Faith--a married mother of three who has always wanted to write, but can't find the courage to believe in her dream. A new chapter is available each Friday and if you want to talk about the story with other readers, you can go to the message boards.
Contest
As always, I'm running a contest on my website--This month's prize is a signed copy of a book from my backlist, an autographed copy of Out of the Blue by Jill Shalvis, and a beautiful bookmark depicting a painting from the Group of Seven. Why not drop by for a visit and enter?
Wishing you a marvelous autumn,
C.J.

 | OCTOBER
2001 | AUTHOR AT WORK...
I'm
at the polishing stage of my Three Sisters Trilogy.
My editor and I are very excited about these 3 books and looking forward to their
upcoming release. As soon as the covers are available I'll forward them to Emily
and she'll get them up on the site for you to see.
EXCITING DECEMBER CONTEST...
Watch
for a special pre-trilogy contest running through December and January.
The winner will receive an autographed copy of my latest - A
Sister Would Know.
AUTHOR
AT PLAY...
I did indeed attend the RWA
National Conference in New Orleans this summer. Surely one of the highlights
was the glamorous RITA awards at the Saenger Theatre. Another was lunching with
editor Marsha Zinberg, Susan and Alethea from Harlequin and several of the other
authors working on the Cooper's Corner Continuity Series, including Tara Taylor
Quinn, Sandra Marton and Jane Porter. We had great fun tossing around ideas to
help promote this series on Harlequin's web site as well as discussing tag lines
for the covers of the books. Speaking of Jane, she treated Barb Dunlop (Duet and
Presents author) and me to a lovely tea at a posh hotel (I forget the name!).
We munched our cucumber sandwiches, sipped champagne and listened to Bach on the
cello...it was divine!

 | JUNE
2001 | THE LEGEND...
These past few months I've been working on a novel
for Harlequin's newest continuity series--COOPER'S CORNER. My contribution, "The

November 2002. Be prepared for an exciting trek through the High Desert of Nevada
with John Eagle and the girl he grew up with but doesn't dare love, Kerry Dumas. Please
note, this book will only be available through Harlequin's Mail Order Club. Check
into signing up at www.eharlequin.com. THE
TRILOGY... I'm
so pleased my trilogy, THE SHANNON SISTERS, finally has a name, as well as pub
dates! Please look for these books in February, March and April of 2002. NEW
ORLEANS... I'll
be taking a week in July to go to the RWA National Conference. In September look
for details of the RITA awards and other highlights of this important event. THANK

 | FEBRUARY
2001 | Welcome...
To this, my first newsletter. Wow, if I've had a
busier month than January, I can't remember when it was. Let's see... where to
begin... Web Page
Isn't it wonderful? Emily
pulled it all out of her magic hat for me: color, animation and a slick design!
Oh, and she's such a sweetie to work with, too. Books
I've had two new Harlequin Superromance books published
in the past three months. In
December I hope you saw, A DAUGHTER'S PLACE.
Coming in February is A SISTER WOULD KNOW. I'm
just now working on the final touches for my THREE SISTERS
TRILOGY. These books will be available sometime in 2002, I believe. As soon
as the dates are slotted, I'll let you know! Also coming up in 2002 is my contribution
to a new Harlequin Continuity Series titled "Cooper's Corner." More detail on
all these projects in the next newsletter!
Signings
I haven't done much in the way of signings for
my previous books. I'm making up for it with A SISTER
WOULD KNOW. Check out the schedule posted here on my site. I'd love to see
you in person! Make sure you tell me you've visited my site and I'll give you
a special gift with book purchase. Radio
Whose crazy idea was this? Mine, I'm afraid. One
morning in the near future, I will be a guest on Calgary's QR77 Morning Show.
I'm running a contest to see who my next Superromance will be dedicated to. Maybe
someone you love? The winner will be acknowledged on the dedication page, and
will receive two signed copies of the published book. Conference
in Victoria B.C.
In March I'm treating myself to a weekend of fun
at the RWA conference in Victoria B.C. I'm especially looking forward to seeing
good friends, and talented new writers, Jane Porter and Barbara Dunlop. If I remember
my camera, I'll bring back a photo for my next newsletter. Happy
browsing! C.J. |
